What a magnificent team we were! United as one, seeking only the health and happiness of our most treasured fur friends. The community led the way creating an atmosphere of fun and happiness. The kids got their faces painted - the staff joined in too amidst much laughter. There was balloon twisting on hand; most requested were unicorns for the girls and swords for the boys. Lots of family photos were taken capturing all the memories.
Delicious, creamy cupcakes were sold for R20 each with the proceeds going to K9 & Bridgers animal rescue service. Such was the spirit of giving that one of our customers bought enough cupcakes to spoil the whole Petworld team which led to even bigger smiles all around.
The Hill's team @hillspetfoodsa, chatted with customers about how the first ingredient in their food is knowledge and about how their daily nutrition feeds a better tomorrow for our pets. Of course, there was the incredible Hill's 25% off promotion which many took advantage of to stock up. Goodie bags were handed out which included Petworld, Hill's and @nexgard_sa vouchers and treats along with a toy for each pawsome pupper and cool catto.
Lights, camera, action! The stars of the day were the puppies up for adoption. They seemed to know it too as they moved from one lap to the next receiving oodles of cuddles. How lovely it was to witness a steady stream of customers hop into the pen to spend quality time with the little rascals. It’s all thanks to the rescue organization K9 & Bridgers who partner with Petworld to hold Adoption Days every second Saturday.
Adoption Days are an integral part of Petworld’s role in the community and they reflect our belief that it is always better to adopt. As we approach the festive season, we see an increase of Christmas pets ending up in the welfare system because not enough thought was put into giving a puppy or a kitten as a gift. At this time let’s all take our team spirit one step further and donate our time or our resources to animal welfare. For those who can foster or adopt, please step forward.
